Updates to the navigation bar and SIMs view

changelog_nav.png

We have made some updates to the navigation bar and SIMs view, which you might have noticed if you logged in to 1oT Terminal recently.

The navigation bar now features crispy, clear icons and is responsive to the browser size.

In July, we shared that we would be working on a redesign of the SIMs view page to make managing a growing number of SIM inventory easier and more intuitive. Although there is a lot of technical debt work and refactoring involved, we have already made some front-end adjustments.

First, look at this lovely scroll bar 🤩

We have also updated the background color for the SIMs view table to distinguish it from the rest of the page, changed the colour of borders.

In the coming weeks, we will be making more improvements to the SIMs view, so stay tuned!

The new and improved Data packages page

changelog_data packages.png

We are excited to announce the updated Data Packages page. After months of hard work and improvements, it not only shows the price list and ongoing charges, but also helps to make better decisions on optimizing data packages.

Better overview of pricing and ongoing fees

The Data Packages page has been extensively updated to better summarize your packages.

For example, we have added a summary row that shows the number of data packages on all your SIM cards and the current usage in the billing cycle. In addition, a table lists all data packages associated with your account and gives you an overview of the package and SIM types, as well as the SIM statuses.

Pooled packages overview.png

Those who prefer prepaid billing can now check their balance on the Data Packages page, which is more convenient than the Settings page.

Pooled packages overview-1.png

If you have a pooled data package, you can monitor its usage during the billing cycle and get feedback on whether you are using too much data or if the data pool is too large and underutilized.

Updated detail pages for data packages

You can now view usage for the last six months and an overview of each cost category, such as base fees, SMS charges, or data consumption fees.

For customers with a pooled data package, the same bar chart is displayed for the current billing cycle, with suggestions on how to optimize your costs if you use less or are at risk of exceeding the agreed pool. You can also view the pool consumption for the last six months and assess whether the size of the data pool is appropriate and optimized.

Improvements and fixes

  • You can filter by Radio Access Technology (2G, 3G, 4G etc) on data package's pricing tab
  • Fixed a bug where it was not possible to change the SIM type when ordering new SIMs after a misclick
  • When opening the Analytics app, the default time range is the beginning of the current month up to the present day

What do you think of 1oT Terminal?

changelog.jpg

We'd like to hear more about your experience with 1oT Terminal. That's why there will be a short survey the next time you log in.

We're working hard to make 1oT Terminal better, and your feedback will help us a lot.

New trigger in Workflow Automation app

pool-workflow_3x.png

We added a new trigger to the Workflow Automation app that responds to data pool consumption.

If you're unfamiliar with the Workflow Automation app, we recently shared some inspiring examples of how this app can help you save time and money and protect against theft. Read it here →

What's next?

We have been relatively quiet with updates to the 1oT Terminal. Still, we have been busy introducing new carrier partners to 1oT eSIM (here and here). Plus, a few massive projects will be shipped within a couple of next weeks.

More so, just recently, we planned Q3 development plans with the whole team.

To highlight some things:

  • upgrading the SIMs overview page to accommodate more SIMs and offer better overviews
  • add more capabilities to the Analytics app
  • have a long backlog of papercut and usability issues that we will to polish

Fix/Improvement

Quality of life improvements

During the past few weeks, we have worked hard to ship numerous minor updates to 1oT Terminal and resolve a few lingering problems.

Find SIMs with CSV file upload

You have always been able to upload bulk changes to Terminal. Now you can just upload a list of SIMs in a CSV file and filter them in the Terminal for the next desired actions.

Ask everybody to follow security measures

Company owners and administrators can now require two-factor authentication (2FA) for every user in the 1oT Terminal. Simply turn on the setting in company settings, and your team will be prompted to set up 2FA upon the next login.

We have also made the setup process smoother and more reliable.

Improvements and fixes

  • Improved the loading time of the eSIM detail page if the card had multiple profiles
  • We’re now asking for a confirmation to move SIMs from Shipping status to Live
  • Added an audit log event for data package editing, deleting, duplication
  • Fixed a problem where the Sub-client app’s cost per customer report downloading didn’t work
  • You can now add, edit and delete tags in bulk

White label the sub-client app interface

sub-client_changelog.jpg

See demo→

We are pleased to announce a significant update to the sub-client app. The sub-client app allows you to control what your clients can access in terms of SIM management and which SIM cards they can view.

After activating the sub-client app, you create a sub-client company and assign specific SIM cards they can access and control. It is important to note that you still own the SIM cards and have full access to Terminal. However, the sub-client can only see the SIM cards assigned to their account.

Now you can customize the look of 1oT Terminal with your logo and remove all references to 1oT. This is called white labeling the sub-client layer.

If you choose to do so, you can customize the platform to display your company name and logo and provide a support email that appears in multiple areas of the platform. And your customers can manage their SIMs from the URL connectivityplatform.com.

Fixes and improvements

  • You can edit the title of KPI metrics, which helps you identify the metric by title when tracking the same metric for different groups of SIMs.
  • Migrated the API documentation page to the new web

Distinguish between uplink/downlink data consumption

downlink.jpg

Today, we are rolling out a data consumption tracking update on 1oT Terminal.

Now you can distinguish between uploaded and downloaded data in the SIM detail view. This way, you can ensure your device correctly communicates with the network.

This information is available for all customers and can be enabled/disabled by modifying the visible columns of the data sessions table.

Fixes and improvements

  • You can now see eDRX, PSM for NB -IoT and LTE-M technologies, and 5G availability under the networks. The information is displayed when you hover over the desired network.

Introducing improved KPI Reports

changelog.jpg

View demo →

We have made significant improvements to the KPI Reports app.

With the improved KPI Reports app, you can now gain deeper insight into your IoT projects. You can easily track usage, monitor costs associated with deployment, and analyze device behavior.

Compare data over time

KPI reports now include historical data. This feature allows you to compare data over time and perform deeper data analysis. Build a data set based on data consumption, SMS, invoices, and SIM inventory.

Simplify data interpretation with new visualizations

We’ve also made it easier to understand your data by introducing new types of visualizations. These visualizations include tables, lists, charts, graphs, and more. This makes it easier for you to understand complex data sets and make informed decisions.

Share KPI Reports with the right people

You can now share KPI reports via URL. You no longer need to log in to the Terminal to access the content. Simply share the report with anyone who needs access, and they can view it without additional credentials.

Moreover, you can download specific charts as images (png files) in case you want to share the individual chart with somebody in, for instance, Slack or Teams. All data can also be downloaded as an Excel file for offline analysis if that’s your preferred way

Here are some examples of reports you can set up to optimize your deployments or get a better overview.

  • At the beginning of the project, you can track how SIMs come online by monitoring the first data session or completing connectivity testing at the end of the production line.
  • During deployment, you can monitor data consumption to determine if data usage is meeting expectations.
  • You can analyze the cost of different data packages to optimize costs.

Improvements and fixes

  • We have reduced the loading time of the SIM slide-over. ICCID, EID, IMSI, and MSISDN-based searches in the SIMs view are lightning-fast.
  • You can now create new automated workflows with SMS limit-related triggers.
  • We fixed a bug where prices were sometimes displayed as € 0 due to a rounding error. Now all numbers with up to 4 digits after the decimal point are displayed (e.g., 0,0005€ per MB).
